Itinerary
Arrival in Kathmandu and pickup from airport and drop in 3 start hotel in Kathmandu on BB plan.
Today we will prepare for our trek. Firstly, we will be preparing for your trek and obtain permits required for forthcoming expedition. Afterwards, will then start our half day sightseeing tour of the lovely city of Kathmandu after a filling breakfast at your hotel. You will get access to a comfortable private vehicle and an experienced tour guide. We will be visiting Swayambhunath and Kathmandu Durbar Square which reveals the rich mediaeval culture and art. We will start getting you ready for your excursion later this afternoon.
We leave Kathmandu and drive towards Machha Khola to begin the journey. You will reach Dhading Besi by travelling down the Prithivi Highway alongside the Marysyangdi and Trishuli Rivers and taking in the breathtaking vistas of the verdant valley, hills, and picturesque peak far off in the distance. From this point on, the journey can be a little uneven as you go down the rocky trails that lead to the northwest route on the other side of the Budhi Gandaki River, which is Arughat.
As you proceed along the path, you will first pass the Soti Khola, which serves as the hub for hiking excursions into the Manaslu region. From here, you will eventually reach Machha Khola after passing through a number of Gurung and Magar villages.
Following the gorge at the beginning of the hike, we hike up the river. You go along the trails, up and down. There's also a hard trail that goes uphill.
This leads to Tatopani, the location of a naturally occurring hot spring. You can take a dip to ease your tense muscles and joints if you'd like.
On foot, we shall approach Yuri Bagar. The cantilever bridge, which will take roughly 20 minutes, is seen here. At 158 metres in length, this bridge is the first of its sort in Nepal.
Some of the best views of Ganesh Himal and Shringi Himal may be seen on these treks. We proceed to Jagat, which serves as the Manaslu Conservation area's entrance. Spend the night in a Jagat hotel.
This day, we climb a difficult slope to first arrive at Salleri and then go in the direction of Sirdibas. We proceed to Ghatta Khola and cross a large suspension bridge to trek upstream to a Gurung village in Phillim. From the village's lower areas, the trail heads north on level paths through fields of maize. We arrive at Ekle Bhatti, where you will have lunch and resume your journey. From there, we cross the Budhi Gandaki over a steep gorge, descend through grassy slopes, and cross bridges to go from the west to the east bank and back. We travel through bamboo groves as the trail widens and leads to the Deng Khola. We arrive at the small Deng village, where we spend the night, after crossing the river.
You head towards Salleri and Upper Jagat. On the trip, you'll see two hydroelectric plants.
You proceed to Sirdibas, where you can see Mt. Siring (7,239m), from Salleri. Next, you arrive at Philim. You will hike through Pewa, Ekle Bhatti, Nayak Phedi, and Chisapani from Philim. The majority of these are lovely, sleepy little communities.
You will pass two suspension bridges at Pewa. Deng is a 45-minute walk away from here. In Deng for the night.
After breakfast on Day 5 of the Manaslu Trek 12 Days Itinerary, you will depart Namrung and travel towards the picturesque Lihi Village. The trail this day heads towards Sho Village over a picturesque grove of oak, rhododendron, and fir trees. You'll also cross a creek that gets its water from the Lindanda Glacier.
Trekking around the Kani Stupa on this day will reward you with breathtaking views of the Simnang Himal, Naike Peak, and Mansalu. You will eventually reach Lho Village if you travel the spiritual route marked with praying wheels, mani walls, and praying flags. Spend the night in a Lho teahouse.
After leaving the Lho behind, your track descends to a stream and follows it as it winds through patches of damp forest, creating a path that leads to Shyala Village. Surrounded by farmlands, this picturesque town in the Himalayas offers expansive views of neighbouring peaks such as Ngadi, Himnalchuli, and Manaslu.
From here, you'll follow the ridge that leads to Samagaun while walking beside a tiny stream that emerges from the Punggen Glacier. This intriguing town near the Manaslu Base Camp features vast farmlands and pastures, and from its viewpoint, you may take in more untamed and unobstructed views of the Himalayas.
In Samagaon, today is a day off. You can visit the well-known Ribung Gompa and enjoy breathtaking views of Mount Manaslu. Moreover, you'll be treated to breath-taking views of farmland, flatlands, and glaciers. Many climbers use Sama Gaon, or the settlement, as a training ground before ascending Mt. Manaslu.
It is advised that you take day treks close to your point of acclimatisation on your acclimatisation day. Your body will adjust to the fluctuating altitudes more readily as a result.
You can choose to see the following at Samagaon:
Lake Birendra Taal: At 3,450 metres, this stunning glacier lake is located. About 3 miles separate this from the Sama settlement. Spend the night in Samagaon.
You will start your journey today with a two-hour walk up a hill. This is a bluff that rises over the river.
Additionally, blue sheep graze there. You will pass through lovely forests of birch and juniper on this journey.
Samdo is located where the three valleys converge. Village Samdo (3,800m) is home to Tibetan refugees. Another option is to hike to Samdo's viewpoint. A two-hour trek from the settlement is required. It's an excellent method to acclimatise and gives fantastic vistas.
From this location, one can see a number of peaks, including Simnang Himal, Ngadi Chuli, Samdo, and Mount Manaslu. The Manaslu icefall and glacier are also visible. Overnight at Samdo.
A walk downhill to the Budhi Gandaki river begins the day. After crossing the river, you will begin to ascend to Dharamsala via Larkya Bazaar and the Salka Khola valley.
Dharamsala, sometimes called Larkya Phedi, is a settlement that is only in season. There is a small shelter building there with space for hikers. You will pass by the stunning Larkya Glacier during the route. To more fully adjust to the fluctuating altitude, you are welcome to wander and explore the nearby hills.
Views of Larkya Peak, Naike Peak, and Siachen Glacier are available from Dharamsala. Overnight at Dharamsala.
This is the hardest portion of the journey thus far. We set out early on our hike to the Larkya Glacier's northern flank. Larkya Peak and Cho Danda are seen from here. After that, you ascend to the Larkya La Pass, the trek's primary high point. This Pass is among the highest of its kind at 5,213 metres.
Once here, you may take in some of the most breathtaking Himalayan mountain range vistas. Himlung Himal, Cheo Himal, Kang Guru, and Mt. Annapurna II are all visible.
After spending some time on the pass, you cross it and descend sharply over Salpudanda Glacier's high moraine ridge. From here, you descend towards a Dangboche Kharka grassland moraine. From that point on, the terrain gets easier, and after six hours of hiking, you'll arrive at a sizable meadow, a tiny rest house, and a Mani Wall. This is Bimthang, a lovely village.
This is the last day of your walk and one of the lengthier ones. Stepping behind the moraine wall and south below Bimthang is where you start. Additionally, you will traverse the Bhimtang Glacier. After that, you ascend the distant moraine wall and explore some of Nepal's most picturesque forests. You'll walk through dense forests of oak, rhododendron, and pine. After that, the trail drops to the Dudh Koshi River.
You will be able to enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the Marsyangdi valley as you travel. After that, you will arrive in Tilije, a Gurung community well-known for its house-made brandy. Here, you can indulge in a portion of it.
Once you arrive at Dharapani, the starting site of the well-known Annapurna Circuit climb, you will pass through checkpoints. Spend the night in Dharapani.
The last day of your 12-day Manaslu Trek is today. You will drive to Besisahar from Dharapani. It takes two to three hours to complete. To get to Kathmandu, drive along the banks of the Marsyangdi River from Besisahar.
This requires five to eight hours. Along the route, you'll be able to take in the stunning views of the Marsyangdi River, bridges, and small villages with cottages and small dwellings.
