We officially started our trekking adventure today. You will experience a breathtaking flight from Kathmandu to Tumlingtar as part of the Makalu Base Camp Trekking tour. As soon as you take the aeroplane from Kathmandu to Tumlingtrar at the Tribhuvan International Airport, your trekking adventure begins.
It takes roughly fifty minutes to fly from Kathmandu to Tumlingtar. There are stunning vistas of the countryside and cityscapes throughout this picturesque flight. From the aircraft, you can also see the stunning Himalayan range.
Following an enthralling and picturesque flight, Tumlingtar will be your landing destination. After arriving in Tumlintar, we will board a local Jeep for a seven-hour ride to Sedhuwa, where we will spend the night.
After a hearty breakfast and an early morning departure from Sedhuwa, our adventure continues. We will go from the lovely village of Sedhuwa to Tashigaon, which is our next stop.
Tashigaon, at 2063 metres above sea level, is a picturesque settlement with breathtaking views. Because the routes are steep, there are few trees along the lovely trail that leads from Sedhuwa to Tashigaon, but there is still plenty of pasture land.
Many Buddhist prayer flags and miniature chortens may be seen when travelling from Sedhuwa to Tashigaon. We will spend the night in Tashigaon and wait for our upcoming journey.
From Tashigaon, the Makalu Base Camp Trek Itinerary continues to a village called Kauna. There are numerous breathtaking vistas along the Tashigaon to Kauma path. At an elevation of 3470 metres, travelling from Tashigaon to Kauma takes about 6-7 hours.
Although the walk from Tashigaon to Kauma Danda is difficult, the vistas are breathtaking. You get to see the mountains in greater detail as you ascend. The Kauma danda is located close to a tiny settlement where you will spend the night. You may enjoy breathtaking views of the Himalayas from the Kauma danda.
We will be walking through numerous turns and twists and gaining some altitude, so today's trekking will be challenging. We will depart the Kauma Danda and make our way to the stunning Barun Valley following a hot breakfast.
A stunning, holy, and deserted valley in the Makalu region is called Barun Valley. For hikers, there are some short-term camping areas. We will arrive at one of these locations today. We will arrive in Mumbuk after a strenuous 6-to 7-hour walk over numerous turns and summits. This is one of the areas set aside for temporary camping in the Barun Valley. We are going to spend the night in the Mumbuk area.
You will now travel to Nehe Kharka, another temporary camping area in the Barun Valley, after relaxing in Mumbuk.
There is plenty of flora along the relatively plain trekking track that leads from Mumbuk to Nehe Kharka. Despite the lack of nearby trees, the holy grounds of Barun Valley are exquisitely blanketed in greenery. It will take you around 6-7 hours to reach Nehe Kharka while you cross minor creeks and take in the stunning scenery.
We go from Nehe Kharka today and travel to the higher ground of Barun Valley. A tiny community called Shershon Village is located close to Lower Barun Glacier. There is a fantastic view of the glacier from this little settlement on the north side of it.
Compared to the past several days, today will be a little more difficult because you will be gaining a lot of height. This implies a strenuous trek to reach the Shershon Valley. You'll need to ascend steep rocks carefully. Along the route, you'll pass by numerous waterfalls and tiny towns near Jhark, Ramara, and Mera. After about six to seven hours of climbing and trekking, you will eventually arrive in Sherson and conclude your day's journey.
Early in the morning, we depart and make our way to Makalu Base Camp. Makalu Base Camp, situated at 4870 metres above sea level, offers stunning views of Everest, Makalu, Nepal's fifth-highest peak, and other nearby peaks.
Hiking the trek to Makalu Base Camp from Shershon takes about 1.5 hours. After a short journey along steep mountain paths, you will arrive at Makalu Base Camp. You will have ample time to savour and take in Makalu Base Camp's breathtaking vistas.
Following some time spent in amazement, you will depart from Makalu Base Camp and return to Nehe Kharka while taking in the breathtaking views of the glacier and mountains. We are going to stay overnight at Nehe Kharka.
We will enjoy and Explore the Makalu Base camp.
We are about to descend as we make our way back from Makalu Base Camp. At Nehe Kharka, we will have a hot breakfast before moving on to Shipton La Camp. A campground called Shipton La Camp is located next to Shipton La Pass.
We will travel down towards Mumbuk as we make our way back from Nehe Kharka. We will walk to Shipton-La camp from Mumbuk and spend the night there. The vista of Shipton La Camp at sunset is breathtaking.
From Shipton La Camp, you can take in the breathtaking views of the mountains as well as the lovely sunset.
We're going to descend back to Sedhuwa today. We will be trekking through rocky mountains and downhill for 6-7 hours, so please take caution and pay attention to your footing. You'll also get the best sunrise views of the Alps, especially Kanchenjunga mountain, from the trail.
We will stroll directly in the direction of the lovely community of Sedhuwa while taking in the breathtaking mountain vistas. When you eventually descend to Sedhuwa, you will gradually be able to observe the verdant rhododendron forest.
After enjoying a delicious breakfast at Sedhuwa, we will go to Mure today. We're going to come back the same way we came. You'll pass through the stunning Num Valley on the descent. It's a short stroll past the Num valley to Mure, which is situated at an elevation of 1980 metres. After about six to seven hours of walking, you will arrive in Mure from Sedhuwa. We will spend the night here today getting ready for the walk the following day.
