Poonhill Panorama Trek

13 Days

Poonhill Panorama trek offers the spectacular mountain scenery along with charming villages inhabited by the Gurungs & Magars, dense rhododendron forests with many species of birds. One of the important highlight of this trip is to make a climb on Poon Hill (3210m), might be the most spectacular mountainous view on Earth. When sun rises, it touches the snow-capped summits the Himalayan giants Dhaulagiri and Annapurna range. There gradually appear, just like magic that your eye could not believe.

Overview

Because of its lower elevation, the Annapurna Panorama walk is a great option for people looking for a quick and reasonably easy journey to see the Annapurna mountain range in warmer weather. With a tight schedule and a taste of Nepal’s diverse array of natural and cultural treasures, this thrilling short and simple trekking tour is made to provide travelers with a very fulfilling scenic walk in a short amount of time. This charming walking trail meanders through verdant, patchwork valleys, thick forests, and freezing waterfalls where we may pause to let the pure white, mineral-rich water cool our faces. At each bend of the road, there’s a beckoning view of the towering mountains ahead, whose expansive vistas will become visible as we ascend higher.

The Annapurna Panorama View trekking route can be tailored to your preferences, although it often begins in Pokhara. We enjoy this trek in the breathtaking mountain scenery that passes through deep sub-tropical valleys, dense bird-filled rhododendron forests, and charming Gurung and Magar villages. All of these are situated below the Annapurna range, with the picturesque Machchhapuchhre (Fish Tail) peak dominating the skyline.

When we get to Pokhara, we'll check into our hotel, unwind, and then take a tour around the lakefront, stopping to see the Barahi temple and Phewa Lake. Stay the night at a hotel.

In an hour, we will drive to Nayapool, the starting point of the walking trail. While traveling through numerous little settlements on a level path, we will stop for lunch. We'll travel towards Hile by following Bhurungdi Khola and its canyon. It is striking how many people from many castes and cultural backgrounds use the trail. Our first night will be spent in a lodge with a rustic feel that is encircled by paddy fields.

It's a strenuous climb in the early morning via the village of Ulleri and past the herds of mules and donkeys carrying food for the higher regions. The ascent crosses stone staircases. The trail passes through various fields and verdant woodlands in the afternoon, home to a variety of bird species and flowers. The most prevalent plant species in these areas are the tallest rhododendron trees on earth. to last, we will arrive to Ghorepani, a popular tourist site in the area that is perched on a ridge with a view of the surrounding mountain ranges. Poonhill is a well-known viewpoint that offers stunning views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna. It is a short 30-minute walk from Ghorepani. Poonhill is a must-visit location for trekkers as it is one of the key draws. Spend the night at the trekking lodge.

We will hike for 45 minutes in the early morning to reach Poon Hill (3200m), from where we can enjoy the sunrise view over multiple snowcapped mountains, including Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m), Tukuche Peak (6920m), Nilgiri (6940m), Varaha Shikhar (7847m), Mt. Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna South (7219m), Annapurna III (7855m), Machchhapuchhre (6993m.), Annapurna IV (7525m.), Annapurna II (7937m.), Lamjung Himal (6931m.). The climb descends to Ghorepani, where we will enjoy a hearty breakfast at the resort, following a cool diversion in the morning. We shall carry on walking to Ghandruk (2650 m) from this point on. The walk starts with an ascent through a thicket of rhododendrons, up to a hilltop known as Deurali. After that, we travel to Banthati on a moderate trail that isn't always downward. The majority of the track will pass through forests of rhododendron, whose lovely blooms in the spring beautify the jungle with vibrant colors. After arriving at Banthati, we will pause for lunch before continuing on a difficult trail that will take us to Tadapani, a tiny village with a few tea houses. Stay the night in a lodge.

Following breakfast at Tadapani, we will make a gentle descent through rich forests of oak, rhododendron, and other trees, all while listening to the chirping of various bird species. For those who enjoy watching birds, this is one of the most well-liked locations. The residents of Ghandruk, a typical Gurung village, are warm and inviting, and they will delight us with their gracious hospitality. We can find out more about these amazing people and their history at the Gurung Museum and Handicraft Center. Views of mountains including Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Gangapurna (7455m), Annapurna III (7755m), and Fishtail aflame with golden light can be seen from this settlement during sunset and sunrise. Spend the night in the trekking lodge.

Following breakfast, the path heads uphill past Ghandruk village before descending through farming communities to a river. At the bottom, we'll cross a suspension bridge and then head up a short but steep slope to Jhinudanda. After relaxing in the lodge for a while, we'll stroll to the riverfront to take use of the natural hot spring. We're going to go back up to the lodge and spend the night there after unwinding in the hot springs.

We can return to the hot spring in the morning, have another plunge, and then retrace our steps along the trail that descends through a valley and across another bridge. There's a little climb left to go to Landruk after that. Along the route, there are numerous waterfalls to see and a couple more suspension bridges to traverse. Landruk is a large Magar community inhabited by people who maintain their traditional ways of life and dress. The trip continues with a few ups and downs after lunch at Landruk, arriving in Bhaisekharka at the base of a hill. The trail then climbs steeply through a woodland and onto a ridge at Deurali. Perched atop a ridge, Deurali offers breathtaking vistas of the Annapurna range, Mt. Dhaulagiri, and numerous other mountains. Spend the night at the trekking lodge.

The trek's final day consists of a short, easy hike to Dhampus village. The trail descends after Dhampus to Phedi, where our journey ends. We will travel for thirty minutes to get to Pokhara, where we will spend the night.
