Swayambhunath
Swayambhunath is an ancient religious complex atop a hill in the Kathmandu among Buddhist pilgrimage sites. There are 360 steps leading all the way to Valley. It is also known as the Monkey Temple and probably the most sacred the top. Commanding a magnificent view of Kathmandu valley and the breath-taking panorama view of snow clad Himalayan range.
Pashupatinath Temple is one of the most significant Hindu temples of Shiva in the world. It serves as the seat of the national deity, Lord Pashupatinath. One of the major Festivals of the temple is Maha Shivaratri. Devotees of Lord Shiva and shadhus come to Pashupatinath from across the sub continent. Behind the temple on the bank of holi Bagmati river is a crematorium of Hindus.
Bhaktapur Durbar Square
Bhaktapur, the city of devotees was founded in 889 AD. The people of this town were very artistic and it contains some of the finest architectural showpieces. Its golden effigies of kings and mythical figures, perched on pillars and roofs and deities looking out from their shrines are fantastic. The town is also known for its pottery, weaving and Nepali caps.
Changunarayan Temple
Changu Narayan is considered to be the oldest temple of Nepal, It remains a milestone in Nepali temple architecture with rich embossed works. The two-storey roofed temple stands on a high plinth of stone. The pagoda style temple has several masterpieces of 5th and 12th century Nepalese art. According to legends Changu Narayan temple existed as early as 325 A.D.
Patan Durbar Square
Patan Durbar Square is situated at the center of Lalitpur city. It is one of the three Durbar Squares in the Kathmandu Valley. The Durbar Square is a marvel of Newa architecture. The Square floor is tiled with red bricks. There are many temples and idols in the area.
Overview
Nepal’s capital city, Kathmandu, is home to a diverse population representing a multitude of cultures. You can sense the sublime Nepalese culture in Kathmandu inside its vast borders. This valley is home to the districts of Bhaktapur, Kathmandu, and Lalitpur. It is stated that Manjushree introduced the valley following the flow of water. Since the Kathmandu Valley is thought to have formerly been a pond, Manju Shree is thought to have cut the canal to pass the valley’s allotted water. The Newar are thought to be the typical residents of this valley, but later on, all the races from all across the country were included in the merging of Nepali customs and culture.
We are quite appealing in the Kathmandu Valley. We have included a variety of well-known locations, including the Monkey Temple, Basantapur Durbar Square, Swyambhunath, and Pashupatinath, a Hindu holy site, in this one-day tour. Our day trip begins with a visit to Pashupatinath in the morning, a sacred site offering a picturesque perspective of culture. Here, we explore a variety of locations, such as cemeteries and several artistic temples, while taking in the expansive vista. Following this, we shall have a scenic moment at the Buddhist holy site of Swayambhunath Stupa with our fully guided tour.
